Seriously though, it depends on what you want to do. If you think you’ll ever be adding plates, I’d say go with the plate carrier, as I never designed the Mesa Tactical with internal armor in mind. On the downside of plate carriers is that they are generally small in terms of real estate. Even the Eagle Plate Carrier, with all it’s PALS webbing, doesn’t necessarily hold as much as the Mesa Tactical. Plate carriers can be a PITA to don and doff, whereas the Mesa Tactical goes on like a jacket. However, if you are really short in the torso, or really skinny (like 36-37 chest or smaller) the Mesa Tactical won’t really fit you well.
